Washington’s Rising Health Care Costs: What the Latest Survey Reveals
A recent survey has uncovered alarming trends in Washington state’s health care landscape, and the findings are hitting close to home for many. The survey, by pollster Digital Research, reveals that a significant number of Washingtonians are struggling with the rising costs of health care.
Nearly half of those surveyed have delayed or skipped care due to high costs, and more than 60% are worried about affording health care in the future. The survey also shows that 1 in 3 people live in a household with medical debt and 88% are concerned about the cost of health care in the future. These statistics highlight a growing concern that health care is becoming increasingly out of reach for many.
The report also sheds light on the tough choices people are making to manage their health care expenses. Voices for Affordable Health frequently hears from consumers who are struggling with high Rx or medical costs. Alan in Washington told us: “The multiple medications I take cost hundreds of dollars, which leaves me little to no money for bills or to cover the other things I need to live each month.”
This latest survey underscores the urgent need for solutions that address health care affordability. Reducing costs and increasing access to care must be top priorities to ensure that everyone can get the care they need without breaking the bank.
