Oregonians: Sick of Rising Rx costs? The State Wants to Hear from You.

November 18, 2024

Oregon’s Drug Price Transparency program has scheduled a public hearing on Dec. 4 to review the latest data showing how Oregonians are affected by rising prescription costs.

The meeting, to be held in person in Salem and on Zoom, will cover the latest in drug pricing as well as look at who really pays for drug advertising and whether drug rebates actually benefit consumers.

Oregon’s Drug Price Transparency program was created to hold pharmaceutical manufacturers accountable for drug pricing decisions. Manufacturers and health insurers are required to submit information related to drug pricing trends in our state.  Oregon consumers are strongly encouraged to share their personal stories.

Bottom line: The ultimate goal of the program is combat unreasonable prescription costs. It’s no wonder, then, that Big Pharma doesn’t like the idea and OPB reported earlier this year that Big Pharma lobbyists in Salem have put up roadblocks at every turn.

That’s why it’s essential for decisionmakers to hear from everyday consumers like you. Voices for Affordable Health makes it easy. With one click here , you can submit your comments and get additional information about how you can participate.
